Totally glazed or partially plazed on top, these planters are voluntarily stressed once fired to look old. We hand throw them using the ancient technique of rope threading. We design wooden rigid structures upon which we apply end to end, long threads of rope to pre-form the wanted shape of the planter. Directly stamped by hand on the rope, the clay is then smoothened by a wooden rigid profiled piece, designed to give the final shape to the planter; as we work our way up. Once made, the wooden structure is taken out, the ropes hold the clay and are taken out as the planters dry naturally.
